Corporate tax registration

Every UAE company must register for corporate tax, including companies that expect to pay nothing.

Updated · Reviewed by the Neva Corporate Services advisory team · How we research

Who must register

All UAE resident companies, mainland and free zone, branches of foreign companies, and individuals whose business turnover exceeds the threshold set by the FTA.

When

The FTA sets registration deadlines based on when a company's licence was issued. New companies must register within a set period of incorporation. Registering as soon as the licence is issued avoids the late registration penalty.

How

  1. Log into EmaraTax.
  2. Complete the corporate tax registration form.
  3. Upload the trade licence, MOA, owner identification and authorised signatory details.
  4. Receive the corporate tax registration number.

Common questions

Is there a penalty for registering late?

Yes. The FTA applies a fixed administrative penalty for late registration.
