A representative office promotes the parent's products and services in the UAE. It cannot trade or earn revenue locally.
What it can do
- Market and promote the parent company's products and services
- Conduct market research and build relationships
- Coordinate with UAE customers on behalf of the parent
- Sponsor a limited number of staff visas
What it cannot do
It cannot sign sales contracts in its own right, issue invoices or earn income in the UAE. When the parent is ready to trade, the office is usually converted into a branch or replaced by a subsidiary.
