Remote work visa
The remote work visa lets employees and business owners working for companies outside the UAE live in the UAE for one year, renewable.
Eligibility
- Employment with a company outside the UAE, or ownership of a company outside the UAE
- Monthly income above the threshold set by the authorities
- Health insurance valid in the UAE
- A passport valid for at least six months
Benefits
- Live in the UAE while working for a foreign employer
- Sponsor family members
- Open a UAE bank account and rent property
Considerations
The visa does not permit working for UAE employers. If you plan to trade with UAE clients, a company or freelance permit is the right route. Your home country may still consider you tax resident; see Tax residency after moving.
Common questions
Can I convert a remote work visa into a company visa later?
Yes. Once you form a UAE company, you can move to an investor or partner visa.
