Trade name rules
UAE authorities check every company name against naming rules before approving it.
Common rules
- No religious, offensive or political terms
- No names of government bodies or well-known organisations without permission
- No abbreviations unless the full form is registered
- The legal form must be added, such as LLC, FZE or FZCO
- The name must not be identical to an existing trade name
- Terms such as "International", "Global" or "Group" may need extra conditions
- Using a person's name can require that person to be a shareholder
